“That was unfortunate. It was kind of an interaction with Cowboys supporters seated near me,” Jones explained during a Tuesday interview. “There was a large group of Cowboys fans—not New York fans, Cowboys fans. The entire stadium was brimming with enthusiasm for the Dallas team.”
He further clarified that the signal was completely unintentional, happening amid the excitement following the team’s last score. “I simply showed the incorrect finger,” he noted. “It was accidentally performed. This is sincere. If you want to call it accidental, you can. But it got corrected pretty quick.”
